How can I verify that alerts are received in ITRS Analytics from Geneos?

If alerts from Geneos do not appear in ITRS Analytics, or you want to confirm the integration is working, check the Geneos Gateway configuration, publishing statistics, and the ITRS Analytics Ingestion and Alerting apps. Common causes include an unsupported Geneos version, connection or publishing errors, or dropped event messages.

Work through the steps below to confirm Geneos is publishing events and that ITRS Analytics is receiving them. Start on the Geneos Gateway, then confirm receipt in ITRS Analytics.
Verify the Geneos version Copied
Use Geneos version 7.0.0 or later. Earlier versions do not support publishing to ITRS Analytics. It is recommended to use the latest supported release for the most recent fixes and enhancements. See the release notes for details.
Enable the Gateway ITRS Analytics Connection plugin Copied
In the Geneos Gateway Setup Editor, enable the Gateway-ITRSAnalyticsConnection plugin to publish data to ITRS Analytics and monitor connection status.
The Gateway log records message statistics every 10 minutes. Example output:

For alerts, check the EVENTS row. A rising dropped count indicates events are not reaching ITRS Analytics. Review the Gateway log history for related errors. Dropped metrics do not necessarily mean alerts are being dropped.
Review data in the Ingestion app Copied
Use the Ingestion app to confirm event data is arriving from Geneos. Check event volume and trends to verify publishing is active and consistent.
Examine alerts in the Alerting app Copied
Use the Alerting app to search for and filter alerts from Geneos. Confirm that expected alerts appear with the correct timestamps and attributes.
